Happy Birthday, Riley & Milly!

Milly and Riley celebrated their 3rd Birthday, March 15th. Happy Birthday to my sweet girls! I wish they were still this tiny!

Tennis/Golf Apparel

I am trying to spruce up my tennis apparel...I figure this golfing skort will work. I love John Daly's golfing apparel, it is so different. Although, some of it is WAY to loud for me.

Example of to loud...

Ethan wants these...yikes.

Loving Lucite

Thanks to my friend, Amanda who sent me a link to a great website... I found this picture of lucite chairs covered with fur that I adore, although I DO NOT like the surrounding decor or the dining table itself (as an FYI).

This Mercer Bench by Jan Showers would look F.I.N.E at the foot of a modern esque bed or in long narrow foyer.

Foods I can't get ENOUGH of...

Some of my favorite things (which always include food and wine)...

Duck Confit Pot Stickers - with sweet gingered arugula, sesame seeds, and smoked tomato chutney

Arugula Salad

I make my own at home and I change it up every now and then. I normally use the following ingredients...fresh arugula, chow mein (dried) noodles, tangerine slices, grated feta cheese, grilled chicken pieces and low fat/no sugar rasberry or strawberry vinaigrette.

The picture below looks really good too. I will have to try pears in it next time. My mother makes the best salad with pears and pecans. Mmmm.

Lobster Mac and Cheese

Favorite Pinot Noir - La Crema

Favorite White blend - Conundrum White Table Wine

Carrabba's Chicken Bryan - topped with goat cheese, sundried tomatoes and a basil lemon butter sauce (I like mine without the sundried tomatoes) NOT a tomato fan.

Manchego and Havarti Cheese with Carr's Crackers

Hummus (most kinds)

...Just a few of my favorites. More favorites to come.

Decisions... To move or not to move?!

I am having some issues here lately. I was dead set on moving to Atlanta about a month ago. I needed to make this move for myself, meet new people, live somewhere different, make a big CHANGE on my own. After applying to many different companies and agencies in Atlanta, I finally started getting replies for job interviews. This hit me and it all became more of a reality. I got scared. Finding the best career fit for me has been a huge challenge. Living in Hattiesburg does not make it any easier. "College towns" are almost harder than "other" towns to find jobs, due to the fast rate of graduating students trying to find jobs as well...I started right out of college in Insurance and I seem to keep falling back to it (in my job search). I have also been looking in Sales, PR and Marketing.

I am not a fan of change and I guess that is why I sometimes settle. I need to learn to be the best that I can be and NEVER settle for anything less. I need a career that will challenge me and that I can learn something new from every single day. I don't know where the next step in life will take me...but I pray that it results in something positive and ends up being the RIGHT decision for me!

A few quotes to live by that I will start taking to heart :)

“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” - Mark Robinson

“If you wait to do everything until you're sure it's right, you'll probably never do much of anything.” - Will Borden

1-1-11 Weekend

Ethan and I spent the NYE weekend in Nola. I was so excited because one of my best friends from P'cola and her husband were going to be there as well!! Kaitlin and Jay are SO much fun. They are one of the best matched couples I know!

We went to the NYE party Friday night at The W Hotel. It was so much fun!! Danielle and Barrett, Watts and her new bf, Brittany Walker and Kev, Kala and her fiance, Doss and Adam and many others attended.

The food was soo good...It was so easy to get drinks, two rooms; one with a band and one with a DJ. We all had a fabulous time. It was time for me to go home by the end of the Hotel pary, so back to the hotel we went (only after a slight fall and a busted knee). New Years day was even more fun! Ethan and I, Kaitlin and Jay walked all over Nola and went to some bars on Bourbon during the day.

We went to dinner at Dickie Brennens and then met everyone else at Goldmine. It was a wonderful weekend and I am so sad it is over!

Slacking on my posts...

Due to actually being busy in the office, holidays and not having anything of sincere importance to blog about...I have been slacking. So at the start of a new year, I vow to do better at this. Maybe.

The holidays were amazing. So great to be home for more than a day in Pensacola. I love my family so much. My mother is the ABSOLUTE best cook I know and can whip up anything you ask in no time...Dad was stressed most of the time. Having two daughters will do that to you, I guess...as well as having a mother with Alzheimer's. I am willing to bet it was mostly due to his mother. My grandparents are literally my favorite people in the world. I will never know two people as wonderful, as in love and as smart as those two. They just celebrated their 73RD WEDDING ANNIVERSARY on December 31st!! Can you imagine being married for 73 years?!!! I sure can't...I am going to have to be locked up when one or both of them passes. If you have ever seen the notebook, the very end of the movie is how I think they will pass. Together. Just thinking of them makes me cry. Love you both more than anything!!

Christmas day was great, Santa was good to me and Dad cooked our annual filet's while mom made potato casserole, walnut and pear salad and my favorite holiday desert; strawberry pretzel salad.

I got to spend some time with some of my best friends from home while I was there. We all met at Global Grill (my favorite restaurant in P'cola) for secret Santa gift exchange and we all went out after. I didn't get to see Catherine or Lindsey...big bummer. I will be staying a weekend with Lindsey soon so we will make up for it then!! Hope everyones Holidays were as great as mine!!
